Heirloom Keepsake Boxes

As a child I use to spend countless hours in my grandfathers wood shop watching him build the most amazing things.  If I close my eyes, I can still smell the scent of sawdust, old spice cologne and hear the rhythmic sound of sandpaper moving against the wood.  One year for my grandparents wedding anniversary, he built my grandmother the most beautiful keepsake box.  She filled it with items from her families history.  Old black and white photographs, love letters they had written to each other during WWII, my fathers newborn baby shoes and other small possessions from a life long lived.  My grandparents have been gone for a while now, but that keepsake box is still in my family today and will be for future generations to come.  Every time I take it out and sift through it, it transports me back to a time as a child when I use to sit with my grandmother, drinking tea, listening to her tell me stories while I sat memorized looking at the faces in the photographs.

So of course I was over the moon when I recently came across a family thats producing hand crafted heirloom boxes, similar to the one my grandfather made my grandmother so many years ago.  I am so thrilled to now be able to offer my clients a collection of beautiful handmade wooden heirloom boxes from Amish craftsmen as a place for the safe keeping of your story for generations to come.  These are more then just boxes.  When all other technology fails and seems one dimensional, your box will contain a culmination of moments brought into one tangible collection that embraces the sights, smells and textures of your life’s story.

The collection of keepsake boxes are available in several sizes, being ideal for the safe keeping of select memories or a growing story with several chapters. Perfect for a high school graduation, a love starting a new life together or  the birth of a new baby.  Every box includes.. A hand cut leather satchel and vintage fabric for enclosing and wrapping photographs.  A collection of glass vials, perhaps to be filled with flower petals from your graduation day, perfume that you wore on your wedding, a lock of hair from your child’s first hair cut, sand from the dream vacation you finally took. Handmade stationary for handwritten thoughts, dreams, wishes, love letters, etc.

I know that my clients will fall in love just as much as I have with this beautiful handcrafted collection!
